Junior Jennifer Nicole Campbell, a piano student of Brian Ganz, recently competed as a finalist in the 6th New York International Piano Competition, sponsored by the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation. Campbell will appear in select concerts on the East Coast this coming year.
Graduate Performance Diploma candidate I-Wen Wang, who studies piano with Benjamin Pasternack, made her China debut in June and as a soloist performing Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No.2 with the Hunan Symphony Orchestra in Changsha, Hunan Province, People’s Republic of China. This trip was sponsored by the Department of Cultural Affairs of Taipei City and the Ministry of Culture, Republic of China (Taiwan).

Art, Fire, Soul: Piano Works of Judith Lang Zaimont – Elizabeth Moak (BM ’83, MM ’86, DMA ’03, Piano) performs
Washington Garcia (MM ’98, DMA ’03, Piano) performed at the National Recital Hall in Taipei, Taiwan; debuted with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Peter Bay (MM ’80, Instrumental Conducting); and was appointed assistant director of the School of Music at Texas State University San Marcos. In March, he performed solo recitals and taught master classes at the Casa de la Música in Quito, Ecuador, and the Olev Roots Hall at the National Conservatory of Music in Bogota, Colombia.
