Tonar Music released the first solo CD, Meng, by artist diploma candidate Meng Su (PC ’09, GPD ’11, MM ’16, Guitar; GPD ’15, Chamber Music). The CD includes two works by composer John Williams and works by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, J.S. Bach, Francisco Tárrega, and William Walton.
Devin Gray (BM ’06, Jazz Percussion) released a new CD, Fashionable Pop Music, with Ryan Ferreira, Jonathan Goldberger, and Chris Tordini. The album is available on Bandcamp and iTunes. Video trailers are up on Mr. Gray’s Youtube channel. Mr. Gray’s band Dirigo Rataplan, comprised of Ellery Eskelin, tenor saxophone, Dave Ballou, trumpets, and faculty member Michael Formanek, bass, have announced an IBeam Brooklyn concert residency, and are preparing to record their second album together. Dirigo Rataplan will play their new book of music for two sets a night on Friday and Saturday, June 17-18 at IBeam Brooklyn at 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm each night. Naxos Records released a new CD in May featuring Rosemary Tuck (MM ’86, Piano) performing with the English Chamber Orchestra conducted by Richard Bonynge. The CD features Carl Czerny’s Grand concerto in A minor, Grand Nocturne Brilliant, and Variations de Concert de l’Opera ‘Le Siege de Corinthe.’ The CD has entered the UK Specialist Classical Music Charts top 20 this week.
“Gaul Me Maybe: French Baroque Keyboard Music,” a new CD release by Daniel Schlosberg (BM ’00, MM ’01, Piano), is available for pre-order. The CD, which will be released on Friday, March 11, features works by d’Anglebert, F. Couperin, Marais, Royer, and Bach.
