Piotr Pakhomkin (BM ’08, MM ’10, Guitar) will make his debut at Carnegie Hall on March 1, 2018. He will play Vivaldi’s D major Concerto, RV 93 with the Chamber Orchestra of New York in Weill Hall. He has also been signed to McDaniel Artist Management.
Nicholas Pothier (MM ’15, Vocal Accompanying) has been appointed adjunct lecturer, staff pianist, and coach at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. Mr. Pothier served as music director and coach for Opera Breve Vocal Incentive’s opera scenes program in Wichita Falls, Texas, as well as pianist for the Prescott Park arts festival in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Mr. Pothier maintains a private teaching studio at the Leddy Center for the Performing Arts in Epping, New Hampshire, and is musical director for productions at the Kids Coop Theatre. He is also working as the music director at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Hampstead, New Hampshire.
Hyejin Kwon (MM ’11, Vocal Accompanying) will serve as repetiteur for Opera on the Avalon’s productions of Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème and Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, then will serve as Intern Coach for the St. Andrew’s Arts Council 2014 Opera Workshop for Advanced Singers with Wendy Nielsen. Kwon has been active in Toronto as a masterclass pianist for Stephanie Blythe, Stephen Lord, Stuart Hamilton, and Tracey Dahl.
Nadezda Mijatovic-Sekicki (MM’13, Vocal Accompanying) will be the music director for D.C. Public Opera’s staged production of Schubert’s Goethe-Lieder, which will be hosted by the Austrian Cultural Forum at the Embassy of Austria on May 23 at 8 pm. She is looking forward to collaborating with the Embassy in creating this unusual production with stage director Jennifer Williams.
