Concert-Drama at Peabody, April 23–24
The Vecchione/Erdahl Duo, Rolf Erdahl (DMA ’94, Double Bass) and his wife, Carrie Vecchione, oboe, will present 84 performances across Minnesota in 2012-13 thanks to a Minn. State Arts Board Arts Tour Minnesota Grant for recitals and education programs in concert series, libraries, schools and hospitals across Minn., and an MRAC Arts Learning Grant to present their Pages of Music educational series to senior centers and residences in the Twin Cities area of Minn.
The Beijing Guitar Duo—Meng Su (PC ’09, GPD ’11) and Yameng Wang (MM ’08, GPD ’11)—were invited to take part in WQXR’s China in New York Festival which ran from January 23-29. They performed a “Café Concert” for WQXR’s website.
Works by first-year students in the Drawing II class taught by Trudi Ludwig Johnson at the Maryland Institute College of Art will be on view on the 4th floor of Peabody’s Leakin Hall through mid-February. The students created the works in response to a lecture-performance by faculty artist Paul Johnson, double bass.
