Nasar Abadey and his band SUPERNOVA have been chosen as citizen diplomats by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, in partnership with Jazz at Lincoln Center. SUPERNOVA was selected as one of 10 ensembles, out of 35 invited to audition, that will travel to over 40 countries as part of The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad tours in 2010.
The Brass Roots Quintet will perform at Homewood Museum at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 5, and Sunday, December 6. $1 museum admission as part of Baltimore’s Downtown Dollar Days.

Senior Jasmine Hogan tied for third prize in the Under 21 age division of the Second International Harp Competition in Szeged, Hungary, on Nov. 17. She was chosen after two rounds of competition from a group of 18 competitors from ten countries.
