Jacomo Bairos (GPD ’11, Conducting) directs the Nu Deco Ensemble, which has been appearing in exciting performances this season. In recent weeks, they performed at the Global Cuba Fest 2019. This weekend, Nu Deco will collaborate with Tune Yards in a performance at the New World Center. There will be new works by Magda Gianniko, Ricardo Romaneiro, and others in this technologically innovative concert. Then, on April 18, they return to the Adrienne Arsht Center for a concert with Ben Folds and the orchestral debut of New Zealand singer Kimbra. Bairos also conducts the Amarillo Symphony, which celebrated the Old West at the Globe-News Center, will close their season with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony on April 26 and 27.
