LetterSizedFlyerCarmenJune2017HQP copyOpus Concert Theatre will present Carmen- Vive la Liberté, a new realization of Bizet’s Carmen by Artistic Director Diana Cantrelle (MM ’12, Voice, Pedagogy), will be performed on Sunday, June 11 and 18 at 3:00 p.m. at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center in Columbia, Md.  The new adaptation of Carmen, conducted and directed by Douglas Brandt Byerly (MM ’97, Music Education), restores the spoken dialogue between musical numbers as intended by the composer. Ms. Cantrelle returned to the original story to flesh out important elements that add authenticity to Opus Concert Theatre’s production. Additional featured performers include David Arz (MM ’13, Voice), Shanna Balman (MM ’10, Voice), Simone Brown (MM ’17, Voice), and Joseph Regan (BM ’03, MM ’06, Voice).
