Students from the class will work with over 125 Baltimore City Public School System students from six different schools for a week before the concert to help sculpt a large-scale 50-minute piece of music. This year’s partners include the Johns Hopkins University East Baltimore Development Initiative, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, OrchKids, City Neighbors High School, Alexandria City Public Schools, Ravinia, Enriching Lives Through Music, Arts Every Day, and Baltimore City Public School System. This year’s themes center around Wes Moore’s book, “The Other Wes Moore” and will concentrate on environment, family, social gaps, and giant leaps.
