Yellow Barn Music Haul’s “A Memory Palace” Featured in The Johns Hopkins News-Letter Reply

b3-yellow-barn1The Yellow Barn Music Haul’s October 19 concert in the Johns Hopkins Freshman Quad, organized by faculty artist and Yellow Barn director Seth Knopp and Special Assistant to the Dean for Innovation, Interdisciplinary Partnerships, and Community Initiatives Sarah Hoover, was featured in The Johns Hopkins News-Letter in an article by Spencer Abrohms titled “Peabody students collaborate in mobile concerts.” The program, called “A Memory Palace,” consisted of performances by percussionist and alumnus Ian Rosenbaum (BM ’08, Percussion), student percussionists Matthew Overbay, Christopher Salvito, Arlo Shultis, and Matthew Stiens, and Rabbit Rabbit – a duo comprised of preparatory alumna Carla Kihlstedt, violin, and Matthias Bossi, keyboard. The concert also featured accordionist Merima Ključo. The project’s inaugural tour took place throughout October 16-22 and included performances in Vermont, Maryland, and Texas. “Yellow Barn ultimately offered an engaging performance that allowed both those who stopped in passing and those who stayed for the duration of the concert to experience the unique magic of watching a seemingly spontaneous concert appear from an ordinary U-Haul truck,” wrote Mr. Abrohms.
